As each project has unique quality criteria, this approach identifies significant and critical product and process characteristics in the manufacturing cycle, at the earliest possible time.

Product quality planning begins at the quotation stage and evolves through feasibility studies, design reviews, prototypes, preliminary process capability, production and finally product delivery.
